Hello, blog friends! I know, I know, where have I been, right? I've been busy crafting, but mostly practicing with my distressing, and experimenting with different punches. Oh, and I finally tried out my new Spectrum Noir markers. Whew, lots of practice needed there, let me tell you! And I could use a few more colors.
I've been on a box making kick lately, don't know why. I'm sure next week it will be something different! You know how fickle us crafters are! I've seen a couple of drawer cards I wanted to try, but couldn't find a tutorial for what I wanted. So I made my own! It's still not quite the way I want it, but it works!
I've made an easel card for the top of the box. I really like the look of easel cards, and it's nice to be able to display your card so it can be seen! For the box top and bottom I used chipboard by Bazzill, covered with BoBunny Swiss Dot cardstock. I distressed the edges with TH Vintage Photo ink. The yellow is Bazzill cs, the green dp is BoBunny Forever Fall Dusk. The floral dp is a digital from Daisie Co. I used a EK Success corner punch, and a EK Success leaf and acorn border punch. I know it's buried under my embellishments, but I printed sunflower digital paper onto a piece of brown grocer paper, glued it to a piece of cs, and distressed it with Vintage Photo. Really turned out cool, I wish you could see it! :) I used Kraft cs to make the drawer, and covered it with my digital floral and BoBunny dp. I used TH hitch fasteners for the drawer handle and feet for the bottom. Love those things! Tim Holtz is a genius! The flowers are Prima, except for the sunflower inside. I got that from PaperWishes. I used a little mouse charm from Bunny Zoe, cause you just have to have a mouse in a punkin patch! The image is a stamp from Great Impressions called Punkin Patch, colored with Prisma pencils. For my two tags I used Spellbinders Labels 4. I can't remember who makes the text stamp I used. I bought the ribbon at my local craft store. Love that color ribbon! The web ribbon came from WOC. I printed off a round sentiment from Cuddly Buddly and used a TH memo pin to hold it. And the pearls are from WOC. I didn't take a pic with the drawer open, I got tired of taking pics! I must have taken 25 pics trying to get a good one! Ugghh! I used the floral digi paper inside. Overall, I like how it turned out. I still need practice coloring, and the drawer is very hard to pull out. I definitely need to adjust the measurements! I think I'll make a couple of these for Christmas gifts.
